something old into something new

I got this old box at a yard sale I think i paid a nickle for it
It was in really bad shape

I took it apart keeping the orginal hardware to use later  striped it down to bare wood then went to work on it
for the outside i used a piece of paper that looked like old leather the picture doesn't do it justice but you can kind of get an idea of what it looks like.

For the inside I used some paper with writing and maps on it  and I added some distressed ink to add a bit of age to the paper
I also used the old mirror that was inside of the original one   it was in pretty bad shape and had most of the reflective stuff missing and was broken on one side
but i really liked the way it looked so decided to try to reuse it
I added a flower and a feather for the stem to cover up the broken edge of the mirror and since a lot of the reflective stuff was missing some of the words showed thru .
